Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries is recognized as a credible expert in our fields of homelessness, addiction, substance abuse prevention for youth and adults and innovative, sustainable economic development projects. Our staff and clients have been interviewed for local television, news, commercial radio, public television and public radio (both nationally and local).The DRMM provides evidence-based programs that end homelessness, promote sobriety and help individuals of all ages to be free and productive members of the community. Covenant House Michigan is a faith-based nonprofit organization that provides hope to homeless, runaway and at-risk youth ages 13-22. We provide shelter, educational and vocational programs, as well as other support services, to help overcome hurdles such as homelessness, unemployment, inadequate education, violence, drugs and gangs. Our goal is to redirect them onto a path toward meaningful and successful adulthood.CHM has come to be known by Detroit area young people as a place they can go to build a better future and be treated with respect and unconditional love. Over 54,785 youth have been served by CHM since its inception in September, 1997.

Mission-Guiding Light Mission exists to create a healing experience that allows individuals to discover a new life in Christ. We expect re-engagement in community. We provide food and shelter to all and resources to men that support their social, physical, spiritual, and intellectual needs.

Established in 1982 as a 501 c (3) non-profit organization, HRI has dedicated its efforts to finding housing solutions for individuals in the midst of a housing crisis, as well as on behalf of the community at large. Our services are designed to stabilize homeless households and help those in jeopardy of losing their housing, so they are more likely to avoid a repeat situation.

The Haven has expanded to offer many innovative services to the ever changing homeless population, who need help in learning social self-sufficiency and productivity. These now include emergency shelter, food, transitional housing, substance abuse treatment and case management. The Haven's eight key programs are The Men's Shelter; Women, Children and Family Shelter (Inasmuch House); the Gain Access Program to help homeless children gain life skills; Adult Foster Care for 15 mentally ill men; Life Recovery Program, a long-term transitional housing program for single men that helps break the cycle of substance abuse; Women in New (WIN) Life transitional living program; the H.O.P.E. Team, an outreach program to the community; and the Calhoun County Jail Ministry.

Transitional Housing Residents may stay up to two years while they address issues that contributed to their homelessness. While there, they are able to work towards stability, education and training, and find employment to meet their needs. A wide range of supportive services, including case management, education, mental health, employment and substance abuse aftercare services are available to help residents succeed. Follow-up is provided for up to six months after they leave to help them successfully overcome all obstacles to independence and stability.

LifeSkills is a five-month residential program designed for men and women who are interested in learning the skills necessary to become stable and independent. Participants will obtain a foundation in God's Word and knowledge of biblical living.

In November of 2003 the Holland Rescue Mission began a Transitional Housing Program for the graduates of the LifeApplication program. The concept behind this area of ministry is to provide continued accountability at a reduced housing cost for participants. The Transitional Housing units are located on the 2nd floor of the Men's Center, with 12 mini apartments available and apartments are also available on-site at our Fairbanks location for women and families. The rent is on a sliding scale to increase as clients reach a more stable income level. Our goal is to provide assistance while equipping them to be on their own.

Mission-Holland Rescue Mission exists to glorify God by proclaiming and demonstrating His love through Christ-centered programs of excellence for the homeless and less fortunate.

Life Application is a short-term introductory program to provide basic information to new and returning clients at the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission seeking a life change. The program provides a solid foundation for future growth and encouragement to proceed to the long-term programs.

Did you know that nearly half of the homeless we help at our shelter are children? It is sobering to think of innocent babies, toddlers, elementary, middle-schoolers and teenagers wandering the streets with their mothers because of abuse, neglect, poor decisions or a crisis that left them homeless. We welcome them at the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission, helping them to discover the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ. During their stay with us, we feed them three nutritious meals each day, provide them with bedding and personal hygiene items, clothe them and support families while parents learn  job skills and find work. The women and children who stay with us have a bedroom, bathroom, lounge/common area, dining area, playground and laundry facilities to use while they are here. We can accommodate up to 54 women and children and they typically stay for an average of 30-45 days.

For the Transformation Program to be successful, participants must have a clear and firm desire to overcome their addiction using the best available resource: the Word of Truth. Until a man is really willing to confront the consequences of his choices and to submit his heart,soul, and mind, to a new direction,he cannot succeed.

At Vista Maria, we serve over 1,000 children every year who have been abused, neglected and traumatized.  They are confused, angry and scared.  Some are full of despair with little hope for a promising future.We help them to rebuild their lives through our full array of highly intensive programming, including female gender responsive treatment, to help address the tough issues faced by adolescent girls, ages 11 to 17. We also provide community-based services for emotionally challenged boys and girls, ages 6 to 17 in Michigan's foster care system.

Rights of Passage gives our youth a safe environment to continue to pursue their education and find a job while learning independent living skills such as time and money management and decision making. Every resident develops a life plan that outlines their goals and leads them towards successful independent living. They are assigned a counselor and mentor and receive individual and group counseling and medical care.

We have developed and implemented quality assurance policies and practices which access input from those we serve, the community at large, staff and referring agencies.

Transitional and Permanent Support Housing-OASIS provides subsidized housing units for survivors of domestic violence and their children.

Siren also offers the following services to both domestic violence survivors and homeless families:Emergency shelter and transitional housing.

Transitional Housing:This is a temporary residency for men for up to 24 months while preparing them for independent living. Men in this program must be committed to being drug free. Supportive services include: case management, individual/group substance abuse treatment, job training and employment referrals, and housing referrals.Clients are referred from various sources, including churches, treatment programs, emergency shelters, and walk-in homeless. This program is funded by the City of Detroit

For many Shelter of Flint clients, reaching the goal of permanent housing, long-term employment and personal/family strength and independence can be accomplished within the 30 day emergency shelter program and maintained through case management and home visits. However, for some, life and personal circumstances make establishing their own home an extremely difficult task. They may need assistance developing critical life skills, maintaining employment or educational opportunities, or even recognizing their own self-worth and dignity.

Shelter of Flint's Transitional Housing program allows these clients to work on such goals over a long-term stay. The agency owns houses and an apartment complex available to clients as safe, affordable housing opportunities. This permits clients a significant level of independence while ensuring that their housing and life stabilization needs are effectively met. Clients are provided with case management, access to workshops and the pre-GED lab and employability development during this 24-month period. We also provide residents with access to other programs and services in the community that may assist in breaking down the barriers to permanent stability.

The Transitional Living Program serves youth ages 16-21 in Kalamazoo County. We assist youth who are homeless or in danger of becoming homeless by enabling them to become stable adults through a wide variety of services. These may include assistance with living skills, aid in finding housing and support in maintaining a positive housing environment. We offer weekly “Life Skills Groups” to help youth form friendships, build support systems and develop essential life skills.

Transitional Supportive Housing is available for up to two years for clients leaving the shelter who need assistance establishing housing on their own. While in the program, families are able to pursue their goals, parent their children in a stable environment and build a positive housing and credit history. We have a number of housing units scattered throughout Kalamazoo County.

This one-year rehabilitation program helps homeless men, women and families transition to stable housing, sobriety, and employment. The Life Skills Program is a Christ-centered, residential program that focuses on our "core issue" separation from God. Through mentoring and discipleship our goal is to reconcile residents back to God and give them the tools they need, in order to live a responsible, productive life that is free from addiction. This newfound freedom will allow our residents to enjoy all the benefits life has to offer.

Housing Programs When you need a safe place to go, the Transitional Supportive Housing can help provide safe housing for families. Here, clients have the chance to regain independence while utilizing all of SafeCenter’s services.

Transitional & Permanent Supportive Housing: The WRC provides housing and supportive services throughout its service area in agency-owned facilities and through vouchers to third-party landlords. Depending on their circumstances, participants may utilize these services for two to five years. Sara’s House is a specialized transitional housing program for survivors of domestic violence and their children when the adult survivor also is in need of substance abuse treatment.

Life with a Purpose is the Mission’s discipleship program for men and women who desire a personal relationship with Christ, victory over drugs and alcohol and to learn biblical principles as the key to real purpose in life and overcoming life-controlling problems.
