Mission-As the central point of access for assistance on domestic violence within the counties of Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne's, and Talbot on Maryland's Eastern Shore, the mission of Mid-Shore Council on Family Violence is to create healthy opportunities to break the cycle of domestic violence through intervention and prevention by providing shelter, counseling, services, and advocacy for victims and abusers; and by changing society's attitudes and systems which permit and promote such violence against women, men and, families.

The Rotary House was vision and a labor of love for MSCFV Executive Director Jeanne Yeager and Centreville Rotary Club Past President Greg Torchio. The Centreville Rotary Club expressed interest in helping MSCFV as part of their Centennial Project. In 2000, discussions between the Centreville Rotary Club and MSCFV began and the need for Transitional Housing was identified. The location was identified and the Rotary Club secured a loan to purchase the property located in the heart of Centreville. Rotary Club Past President Greg Torchio, who is also an architect, provided pro bono services in developing the plans that would become the Rotary House.
