reStart Inc., an interfaith ministry with homeless persons, is committed to providing shelter and supportive services to homeless men, women, youth and families with the goals of helping persons move toward independence and self-sufficiency and ending homelessness in our community.

Welcome to The Kitchen, Inc.'s Rare Breed Youth Services. We help keep kids safe and off Springfield streets. We've served homeless and high risk disconnected youth for over a decade through our Street Outreach Drop-In Center and Transitional Living Apartment Program.  Through working with us, hundreds of youth have set goals, achieved stability, completed education, become employed and moved forward in their lives. A Resident Program to serve recovering alcoholics and drug addicts who need to rebuild themselves spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically.

Covenant House Missouri's Rights of Passage Transitional Living Program (ROP-TLP) offers homeless youth safe, stable living arrangements to help them develop the skills necessary to become independent, productive citizens within their community

This program provides up to 36 families at two sites with supportive housing and case management, counseling, substance abuse counseling, job education and referrals, housing referrals, life skills, recreational activities, parenting classes, tutoring, and an art program for children. Open year round with a maximum stay of 24 months.

The Family Enrichment Center provides a nurturing and safe place for families that are homeless. This long-term intervention program provides hope and practical assistance to these families as they seek to break the cycle of homelessness. For more information please call (417) 862-5509.

The New Start Housing program is a transitional housing program for those currently living in a shelter situation. Participation is by recommendation and those accepted into the program receive long-term support toward becoming fully self-sufficient. For more information please call (417) 862-5509.

Transitional Housing Program: Provides transitional housing and assists up to 10 homeless men in setting goals, learning living skills, establishing a regular income and savings plan, with the goal of moving into independent living. The Transitional Housing Program also includes the Arts Collaborative, a program in conjunction with community artists that allows clients to see themselves in a new and different light to help them determine what they are capable of through the process and production of dimensional art, writings, photography, etc.

Benedict Joseph Labre Center: A residential care center (licensed through the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and Department of Mental Health), which serves as a transitional facility for up to 15 men who are homeless and mentally ill. Psychiatric nursing, occupational therapy and case management services are provided in addition to basic housing needs.

Positive Directions Program: Provides housing and community-based supportive services to more than 80 homeless men and women annually who live with HIV/AIDS, mental illness, and/or substance abuse issues.

We provided case management services and housing for a year or more to 18 chronically homeless men and women in our permanent, supportive housing complex. In addition, 3 residents graduated into independent apartments in the community and 2 were moved to more supervised setting to meet their treatment needs. We also provided permanent housing, mental health and substance abuse counseling, and employment and financial guidance services to 19 Rosati Apartment ACT residents and up to 32 chronically homeless individuals living at other sites in the community.

This regional partnership provided family stability, substance abuse, financial stability and housing services for 200 families with 343 children affected by parental substance abuse.

In addition, 3 residents graduated into independent apartments in the community and 2 were moved to more supervised setting to meet their treatment needs. We also provided permanent housing, mental health and substance abuse counseling, and employment and financial guidance services to 19 Rosati Apartment ACT residents and up to 32 chronically homeless individuals living at other sites in the community.
