Details: This newly constructed building opened in June 2008 and is located just a few blocks away from our crisis shelter, this independent living program provides 10 apartments for 20 youth and helps bridge the gap for them as they work, save money and learn how to live independently. Youth are taught basic life skills they will need once they leave the program and live on their own, including cooking, shopping, cleaning, and budgeting. SAP (Scattered Apartment Program) provides funding for youth once they leave Rites of Passage and find an apartment they can maintain. SAP funds provide rental assistance on a sliding scale for up to 6 months.
