The Haven Lighthouse is a Biblically-based Program with 20 beds for men with life-controlling problems like alcohol and drug addiction. The Program is very structured and lasts for about 9 months. An additional 3 months may be approved. The Haven Lighthouse is a non-tobacco Program and residents are not allowed to use tobacco products at any time. Other restrictions or limitations include restricted use of cell phones, not leaving the camus without a chaperone, and no private vehicles. The Program includes sturctured classes, counseling, a support group, work therapy and training and church participation.

Once you have completed the introduction phase, formally known as “Gateway” you are officially enrolled and will begin your journey through the program’s five phases. While working through each phase, you will gain the skills, stability and self-esteem necessary to become a productive, self-sufficient member of society. Please be advised that this program involves a commitment to spiritual and emotional counseling, life skills, education, Bible study and work therapy, all designed to help you reach the program goal.

The men’s life-recovery program uses a Christ-centered approach to helping men 18 and over resolve personal problems and chemical addictions. During his time in the program, a man will receive Christian counseling, participate in work therapy, learn how to heal from past wounds and develop new and healthy ways of coping. He will also get the chance to study the Bible and participate in the education program to improve his academic and employment skills or obtain his GED. A life-recovery graduate contributes to the community by finding gainful employment and moving into stable housing. More importantly, a man is made spiritually whole, with many years ahead to build and grow God’s kingdom. After graduating, men also have the opportunity to move into the Mission’s transitional housing until they are able to get back on their feet and find permanent housing. Women who are homeless, abused or chemically dependent can find refuge, safety and healing at the Nashville Rescue Mission. During her stay, a woman will receive Christian counseling, including one-on-one as well as group sessions, learn how to heal from past wounds and open up to new, healthy relationships. She will also have an opportunity to study the Bible and participate in the education program in order to improve her academic and employment skills or obtain her GED.Mothers are also taught good parenting techniques. Bright colors, open spaces and play areas help kids regain their childhood. Each woman and her children enjoy time together where they can establish a feeling of safety and a sense “home.” After graduating, women have the opportunity to move into the Mission’s transitional housing until they are able to get back on their feet and find permanent housing.

Moriah House is Memphis Union Mission's long-term recovery program for women and their children. Chattanooga Room in the Inn (CRITI) is a three to nine month residential program for homeless women and children. Services provided at CRITI are free of charge and include transitional housing, three meals a day, access to affordable or free health care, life skills training, parenting classes, mentoring, assistance with finding affordable housing, and case management services. This program allows the women and their children to find stability and thereby increase their opportunities and chances for independence when they leave the program
