The Hospitality Kitchen provides breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday. Breakfast is served from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Lunch is served from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The Hospitality Kitchen serves an average of 1,200 meals a day to more than 4,000 people a year. The Kitchen is closed on all major holidays. In addition to meals, the Kitchen provides chaplain services; homeless veteran outreach; assistance accessing food stamps, medical coupons, and state disability payments; a psychologist; information and referral services; and coats, socks, blankets, and toilet articles to homeless individuals. The Kitchen also provides board games, cards and a daily movie. The Kitchen provides a safe and respectful environment to homeless and low-income people in Tacoma and Pierce County. There is no fee for services.

Mission-Rooted in Catholic Social Teaching and the Gospel imperative, Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services  are outreaches of the Catholic Church in Western Washington, under the leadership of the Archbishop of Seattle and the Boards of Trustees. Autumn Leaf is a transitional housing program serving seven women who are chemically dependent and their children. These women reside at Autumn Leaf after exiting inpatient treatment and receive six to nine months of intensive case management, which focuses on life skills, parenting, and self-sufficiency.

HIV/AIDS Housing provides assistance to people living with HIV and AIDS in our community.  Our goal is to enable clients to access needed services in order to live more healthy and independent lives. Services provided include Tenant Based Rental Assistance, Shelter Plus Care, Transitional Housing and Short Term Rental/Mortgage Assistance

The Aloha Inn is a resident-managed transitional housing program for sixty-six homeless adults and couples without children.  Residents of the Aloha Inn have a chance to save money for permanent housing and get back on  their feet.  Each resident works fifteen hours per week in the program in exchange for room and board.  Residents have a direct role in the daily operations of the program and an opportunity to participate in the governance.

Rose of Lima House opened in January 1993 in response to an alarming increase in the number of single women facing homelessness with little support and no affordable housing. In September 2010, Rose of Lima House moved to its new home in Bakhita Gardens at 118 Bell Street. The brand new building provides housing and intensive, individualized support services to 50 women.

Katherine’s and Rita’s Houses are transitional housing programs for homeless, adult women in recovery from substance abuse. We offer structured, family style living designed to assist women to return to independent living as productive members of the community. Residents may stay up to two years and each resident develops a personal success plan tailored to her individual needs. Katherine’s and Rita's House staff team consists of a full-time Program Manager, Case Manager and Life Skills Coordinator. The team’s focus is on creating a safe environment that supports healthy lifestyle changes and nurtures each resident’s potential.

Offers 39 units of studio and one-bedroom apartments in Bellingham. The building was designed to meet high environmental standards, such as good indoor air quality. It is LEED certified. Eight of the units are set aside for homeless women with children.

Harrington House provides transitional housing with supportive services to eight women, 18 years and older, who are pregnant and/or parenting and homeless. Located in Bellevue, near the Crossroads Mall area, the facility is an attractive, two-story house with eight resident bedrooms, and a manager’s office area.

Benedict House is an innovative program that provides emergency shelter and transitional housing with supportive services for single homeless men and homeless men with children. This unique program incorporates two elements of the continuum of care model emergency shelter and transitional housing. The underlying purpose is to help residents rebuild their lives and to move them towards permanent housing, the third element in the model. Residents may stay for a period of up to 90 days in emergency bed, up to 1 year in a transitional bed and up to 2 years in the family unit.

In 2005 a work group was formed to develop a 10-Year Homeless Housing plan, designed to reduce homelessness in Thurston County by 50 percent by July 2015. At the request of the Inter-Jurisdictional Forum on Homelessness and various leaders in the community, Catholic Community Services created Drexel House to assist in reducing homelessness. Drexel House opened in March 2007 and is the first and only facility in Washington State that combines emergency shelter, transitional and permanent housing at one location.

Men, who are in recovery for drug and alcohol addictions and are able to pay a portion of their rent, live in community with other men in recovery in one of two houses owned by Multi-Service Center. Men live here for up to two years while working with a case manager to create a more stable future.

Women, who have completed a treatment program for drug and alcohol addictions, live in community with other women in recovery in Multi-Service Center's Titusville Program in Kent. Women live here for up to two years in a dormitory style facility (shared restrooms), while working with a case manager to create a more stable future.

The HomeStep Family Program provides intensive case management and long term transitional housing to families with children in scattered site apartments throughout the Seattle area, with a maximum stay of 2 years.

Solid Ground works to end poverty and undo racism and other oppressions that are root causes of poverty. 

Broadview provides both emergency shelter and transitional housing to homeless women and children in a secure, confidential facility.Most Broadview residents are domestic violence survivors, and two-thirds are children.

JourneyHome provides long-term case management for homeless families with children under 18 years old to help them address the reasons they became homeless. We provide support services, comprehensive case management, assistance finding safe, permanent housing and limited transition-in-place subsidies.

Nancy made a routine visit to Kaye, but there was no answer at the door.  Nancy immediately knew something was wrong as it was uncharacteristic for Kaye not to be home.  When there was no response from Kaye, Nancy called out to her through the door and heard a faint cry for help.  Kaye had fallen in the bathroom and was injured.  Nancy immediately called 9-1-1 and Kaye was taken to the hospital where she made a full recovery thanks, in part to Nancy’s quick response.

Provides 38 units of housing in Burien’s Seahurst community for income eligible seniors 62 years of age or older and in certain cases for persons with disabilities that require four architectural features of a unit. Application must be at or below 30% median income and able to live independently. Rent is based on 30% of adjusted income.

On the southeast corner of Third Avenue and Lenora Street in Belltown, YWCA Opportunity Place offers a creative and comprehensive response to the problem of homelessness

In addition to the offices or many programs, and an emergency shelter, YWCA Seneca provides 116 units of single room occupancy (SRO) low-cost housing for women. There is a 24-hour front desk and secured elevator entry for all floors Most units have shared bathrooms, though each room has a washbasin. Rooms are approximately 200 square feet and are furnished with a twin bed, dresser, table, chair and small refrigerator. Building provides a laundry room on each floor. Some units subsidized through Seattle Housing Authority and other agencies.

The two buildings are located in Belltown at 2nd and Battery, just a few blocks south of the Seattle Center and the Space Needle. Both buildings share an onsite maintenance person, an enclosed courtyard and laundry room. Each has a secure entry. Studio units are on three floors of each building and have a bathroom and a full kitchen.

YWCA Housing responds directly to the crisis of homelessness. More than half of the residents in our 613 permanent units were homeless before they came to live in YWCA housing.
